Framed shower doors
These are the traditional shower doors found in most homes. They are very economical, and come in several colors and many universal sizes to fit a wide range of applications.
Frameless shower doors
Frameless shower doors and tub enclosures have a less visible appearance, and are sometimes used when you want to show off your ceramic tile work behind the shower or tub enclosure.
Heavy glass shower enclosures
These shower doors and enclosures are usually made from a thicker 3/8” tempered glass. They are the top of the line bath enclosures and have a very rich look to them. There are a few standard sizes for the thicker glass doors, but are usually considered a custom shower door. They can also be ordered with different metal finishes on the hinges and hardware.
Hinged or pivot shower doors
These styles of tub and shower enclosures have a swing-out door that usually has an attached side panel. These are most commonly ordered as a framed style because the glass panels must have some frame around them to secure the panel, but can be ordered frameless as well. You must make sure you have the clearance to allow for the swing of the door.
Bypass or sliding shower doors
These are the most common style of shower doors and also work very well for the bath tub. They don't require the extra room needed for a pivot or hinged style, and have many standard in stock sizes to fit most shower and tub applications. These can also be ordered as framed or frameless shower doors.
Neo angle shower doors
These are used in a 90 degree corner installation. You don't have to use a neo angle shower enclosure in a corner, but they take up substantially less room, especially in smaller bathrooms. They usually have a standard size door opposite the corner, with a small side panel on each side of the shower door.
Steam shower doors
Steam shower units are a specialty shower door used in steam showers only. They are more positively sealed from top to bottom. You must make sure your bathroom is equipped with the proper ventilation to avoid damage to surrounding walls from excessive moisture build up.
Custom shower doors
This is a broad category, that includes all of the above categories. Custom shower enclosures can be framed, frameless, heavy glass, hinged or pivot, bypass or sliding, or neo angle and steam style shower doors. They are made to order to your exact colors and specifications. They are generally more expensive than in stock shower doors, and may take a little longer to receive.
